Dr. Shirley Lloyd, affectionately known as "Momma Shirley," has been a cherished member of the Aspire Early Learning Academy family since 2013. A retired high school educator, she dedicated 16 years to teaching Business Education courses, following an extensive 20-year career in Office Management and Procurement. In addition to her time in secondary education, Dr. Lloyd also taught at several colleges throughout the Lowcountry, leaving a lasting impact on countless students.
Dr. Shirley Lloyd, affectionately known as "Momma Shirley," has been a cherished member of the Aspire Early Learning Academy family since 2013. A retired high school educator, she dedicated 16 years to teaching Business Education courses, following an extensive 20-year career in Office Management and Procurement. In addition to her time in secondary education, Dr. Lloyd also taught at several colleges throughout the Lowcountry, leaving a lasting impact on countless students. When her daughter, Latorie, founded Aspire Early Learning Academy a decade ago, Dr. Lloyd was overjoyed to support her in every way possible. Over the years, she has worn many hats within the academy—serving as a classroom teacher, director, painter, housekeeper, bookkeeper, and now, as the Benefits Coordinator. Her deep love for children of all ages makes her work at Aspire a truly fulfilling experience. Dr. Lloyd takes great pride in the close-knit, family-like atmosphere across all four Aspire locations, where every team member shares a commitment to nurturing and caring for each child as their own. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Claflin University, a Master of Arts from Webster University, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational & Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Her unwavering dedication and passion continue to make a meaningful impact on the Aspire community.
With over 20 years of experience in childcare, Ms. Jenni Timms remains deeply passionate about nurturing and guiding young minds. A proud military mom of two young men, she brings the same love, compassion, and dedication to every child who walks through Aspire Early Learning Academy’s doors, treating them as if they were her own. She finds immense joy in watching children grow, reach milestones, and embrace their unique personalities.

Since joining Aspire Early Learning Academy in 2016, Ms. Jenni has been an invaluable leader and mentor. She previously served as the Academy Director of the Lexington location, stepping into the role just weeks after its opening and leading for five successful years. In January 2022, she transitioned into her current role as Regional Director, where she continues to support and strengthen Aspire’s mission across multiple locations. Ms. Jenni has been a tremendous asset to the families and staff she serves. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Management and is also a registered trainer for the Department of Social Services, furthering her commitment to education and professional development in the field.
Latorie, a proud native and resident of Moncks Corner, SC, embarked on her journey in early childhood education with a mission to provide high-quality, small-group learning environments for young children. Her vision is rooted in ensuring that every child enrolled in Aspire Early Learning Academy graduates fully prepared for kindergarten, equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed. Together with her dedicated team, Latorie fosters strong bonds with families, creating a loving and supportive community for every child.
Latorie, a proud native and resident of Moncks Corner, SC, embarked on her journey in early childhood education with a mission to provide high-quality, small-group learning environments for young children. Her vision is rooted in ensuring that every child enrolled in Aspire Early Learning Academy graduates fully prepared for kindergarten, equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed. Together with her dedicated team, Latorie fosters strong bonds with families, creating a loving and supportive community for every child. Her passion for teaching began in her teenage years when she discovered a deep love for caring for and educating children. Her professional career in early childhood education spans over 25 years, starting as a part-time after-school teacher at a local childcare center in Charleston, SC, while attending college. Through perseverance and dedication, Latorie gained experience in every facet of the early childhood industry, from classroom instruction to leadership and management. Following her dream, she established Aspire Early Learning Academy on October 1, 2012, and proudly opened the doors to her first preschool in West Columbia, SC, on July 2, 2013. Within just five years, her commitment to service and excellence led to the opening of two additional locations in Lexington and Columbia, SC. In 2022, she brought her passion home, launching a fourth location in Moncks Corner. Latorie’s extensive background in early childhood education includes leadership, mentorship, and training. She is a Certified Trainer and Certified Technical Assistance Provider for South Carolina’s Center for Child Care Career Development, as well as an Early Childhood Program Consultant and Mentor throughout the state. She finds great fulfillment in training and inspiring professionals in the fields of early childhood education, business, and leadership. Beyond her contributions to early childhood education, Latorie actively serves her community as a Council Member for the Town of Moncks Corner. She extends her passion for helping families in the Lowcountry as a Realtor® with AgentOwned Premier Realty and previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Trident Technical College for two years. A published author, Latorie has written Aspire in Your Pursuit and co-authored The A2Z of Early Childhood Management. She holds a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership, a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management, and an Associate of Arts in Public Service with a concentration in Early Care and Education. Additionally, she has earned a Child Care Management Certification, a real estate license, and has served as a Notary Public for South Carolina for over 20 years. Through faith, determination, and a heart for service, Latorie continues to make a lasting impact in both education and her community. She lives by her favorite scripture: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13
